Eating Disorder Recovery Group
A new therapy group beginning June, 2003, for adult women who are currently recovering from anorexia, bulimia or binge-eating disorder. The group will meet once weekly. Cost: $30.00 per session. Time and day will be based on client interest and availability. The purpose of the group is to prevent relapse, and to assist those who have struggled with an eating disorder to continue on their path toward growth.
Goals:
1. To help clients stay alert to possible relapse triggers, and to create more healthful solutions. 2. To provide a supportive environment in which clients can continue to challenge the troublesome feelings, thoughts and behaviors that persist long after disordered eating has diminished.
3. To reduce social isolation, and encourage an interactive experience in which clients can work through interpersonal difficulties.
An initial screening interview is required, and participants must have at least three months of recovery, or have recently been discharged from an outpatient or hospital program. Those who have had many years of recovery are also welcome.

Eating Disorder Groups
Two therapy groups are currently available for adult women with Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa, as well as compulsive overeating or binge-eating disorder.
Group 1 meets Wednesdays: 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Sliding fee scale from $20.00 to $30.00 per session.
Group 2 meets Wednesdays: 7:30 to 9:00 PM. Cost: $30.00 per session.
The purpose of both groups is to provide a caring and supportive place where members can work toward achieving recovery from their eating disorders.
Goals include exploring the feelings beneath the eating behaviors to discover what purpose the eating disorder has served and to create more healthful ways of coping. Group members are encouraged to use the group to work through interpersonal challenges. Topics such as family, trauma, relationships, and daily challenges are discussed.
